In Memory of Kevin Greer

Kevin Greer Obituary

T-shirt Gallery lost a great friend and even greater person. Kevin we will miss you and know we will continue to provide excellent service for whom ever follows in your footsteps. "Hang 10 Brah!"

Houston, TX

Heaven has gained another tremendous part of our hearts on October 10th, 2017. Kevin Lee Greer, born October 16th, 1962, has joined his mother Carolyn Teeter, and his brother James Greer in peace. Kevin was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Mary Caroll High School.

His heart took an interest in photography and journalism. He later went on to work at Channel 3 news in Corpus Christi as a photojournalist. After gaining experience, he took another position in Houston, at Channel 13, to spend most of his working career with their team. Shooting all the stories from miracles to turmoil. He stood his ground through many hurricanes, and interviewed some of the most interesting and famous people of this world. The hectic life of a major television photojournalist takes a toll on your mentality, so Kevin later took the leap into his own business. This in which he chose to call "Breakout Social Media and Marketing", where he took on many clients.

He grew up on the Coastal bend where the ocean stole a piece of his heart. Throughout his life, surfing remained a constant and important part of his personal and professional career. This love would lead to his next endeavor. Upon his brother James' passing, Kevin began the James Greer Foundation and was the driving force behind The Cinco De Mayo Pro event hosted in Corpus Christi each May. Kevin started a surf team sponsored by his late brother's restaurant, Atomic Omelet and Grill, to compete in the foundation's surf competition. This event raised thousands of dollars in scholarships for coastal bend surfers as well as creating competition and comradery in the area and beyond. He later began work with a surf legend to grow the foundation and the competition to help more surfers have a chance to compete at a higher level and have the chance to complete a college education. This, all in the spirit of creating a better start than many surfers his age were unable to achieve when they were younger, including himself.

Kevin is survived by his father Robert Greer (wife Rene Greer), The love of his life Toby Hunt, daughter Jesi Greer, brother Steven Greer (wife Sandra Greer), sister Debi Bradley (husband Bob Bradley and daughter Alyssa), brother Robby Roberts (wife Dee Roberts) nephews Kyle Greer (Fiance Brittney Ellis), Jase Greer, Justin Roberts, nieces Lindsey and Saide Roberts.

Funeral plans are set to take place in Houston and we ask that you please also meet us where the sky touches the sea for a paddle out in his honor to be held in Corpus Christi the following day. Please visit the Facebook page "Celebrating Kevin Greer" for updates to dates and times of these events. "Shaka Brah!"

T-Shirt Gallery and Sports NEW Sign

Old sign

 2012 is our year!

With the addition of some new faces, a new sign and a new website this year is definitely looking up. Over a decade at our present location it became very clear that the old sign had become worn and ready to go.

It took a few weeks working back and forth with our sign company, Innovative Signs , whom i highly recommend their professionalism and final product speaks for itself. All of us here were really excited,
ready with anticipation, and then a day before new years, Innovative Signs truck pulls up, blocks off a portion of the parking lot and well I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

With the old sign down the new sign was ready to replace it!

COSTAL BEND COACHES CLINIC 2012

THE COASTAL BEND COACHES ASSOCIATION

THE BEST LITTLE CLINIC IN TEXAS!
BEST REGISTRATION RATE, BEST SPEAKERS, BEST HOSPITALITY & FRIENDSHIP

31TH ANNUAL
COASTAL BEND COACHES CLINIC
JANUARY 13th and 14th, 2012
FOOTBALL AND TRACK & FIELD LECTURES

This years CBCA Clinic was by far the best I've been too, not because it increased our sales, or it was held in beautiful downtown Corpus Christi... well OK those did play a small part, but to watch a community come together was the true spirit of this event. Coaches from all over South Texas, including San Antonio, Odem, Aransas Pass and many more, were there. From the vendors to the Hall of Honor inductees the Holiday Inn-Emerald Beach was the place to be if you missed it... here are some pictures.

LETTER FROM KATHY DUNN
I’d personally like to thank the Coastal Bend Coaches Association for putting on a great clinic this year and inviting us to attend as a vendor.  The hospitality shown to us by the staff of the clinic was outstanding and the Corpus Christi Holiday Emerald Beach Hotel was fantastic, nice and clean, a great view for the Hall of Honor induction and their staff was very helpful.  We were able to meet coaches from all over South Texas and reacquaint with ones we work with on a seasonal basis.

We had coaches sign up for a $100.00 gift certificate to merchandise we sell and the winners were:
Coach Ed Arvin, W.B. Ray High School Wrestling and Football Coach and Coach Jason Brittain, Angleton High School, Football and Track Coach.
Congratulations to these two fine coaches.

Congratulations to the Gentlemen inducted:  George Harris, Gerald Hellums and Don Schneider, you have made a difference in a youth’s life and myself, as a parent Thank you for your dedication.

Once again, I’d just like to thank all the coaches who are involved with the clinic and those who teach our children important life skills, for making South Texas a special place to live and work.  Our children are in Great hands!

Sincerely,
Kathy Dunn
